Loosing Bookmarks when combining Compress pdf file with others

I created a pdf report with Compress 7110. I had to add several comments and insert several pages with additional calculations. I added manual bookmarks to those pages. Using Acrobat 9.0 I combined the Compress report with others I had created from Excel. All of the bookmarks from the pdf's I created were included in the combined pdf but all of the bookmarks from the Compress file were missing along with the Title page. I tried combining a Compress file without any additions and it worked fine. Any suggestions?
