looking for manufacturing problems w/composites

I'm trying to get a crash education on problems facing the composites industry for an overview paper I'm preparing. Where does one go to find out about products that either represent problems to manufacture using std. mfg. techniques, or are just cost-prohibitive?

I'm somewhat looking for new trends - - the, "We'd really like to make (fill in the blank type of product), but the technology just isn't there right now, " sort of stuff.
