Looking for Manufacturer 1

I have received an inquiry concerning the equipment of an on-site-lab for refinery waste water quality control. the customer specified some of the equipments he wants to have, one of those is the "OMS 2" (Oil Measuring System 2), which is an analyser for oil content in the waste water. this is, by customers description, manufactured by a company called "GSA", probably a german or at least european company.
does anybody here have contact details or something? google and all other internet ressources i know of haven't produced a single result. all companies i contacted so far told me that OMS2 is not made by them.

Here are some links to manufacturers of oil in water analysers. If you can't find the one the client specifies and he can't give you the contact information, try these.

These devices seem to be divided into those that look at % oil in water or water in oil (e.g. 2-98%, the range for which you can expand your seacrh to include a variety of density measuring instruments) and those that measure in the p.p.m.

yes, that's exactly the way i wanted to handle this. the problem is, customer insists on proof that an alternative system is adequate. but how the h*ll am i to do this if don't even know the specifications of the original system?

ah well, this one will probably go back to the legal/controling division, right where it came from...

Not what you are looking for but has your client jumbled his information?

If the client doesn't know the equipment from personal experience then he has identified it from some source or other. What source? Who has requested him to fit this and why? what standards are they working to? Who sets these standards? Whoever it is may have a better idea of what is approved equipment.

If the client can't help you more, then he can't help any one else any better. So the next best option may be to look for a suitable instrument and check with the manufacturer if they have approvals or experience in the particular geographical region. Take a couple of manufacturers and offer the client a choice. He can then get this approved by whatever authority requires him to fit this.

heh. thanks again. as to your curiosity: i'm doing a favor to a small trader from jordan, who is mainly doing jobs for iraqi refineries recontruction. now ask again why it is there isn't enough information .

i will talk to them again, trying to get them to accept an alternative solution. it is nonsensical to further waste time on that.

phrex, There are different Methods of Analysis for determining FOG (fats, ol grease) in waste water samples. Instead of trying to spec. a method by manu'f., what is normally done is to determine what method procedure must be used; such as acceptable USEPA methodolgy for Chemical Analysis of Water, Organic chemical Analysis of Industrial Waste Water, Methods for the Determination of Organic Chem. in drinking water, or the APHA Std. Methods for the examination of Water and Wastewater to name a few.

Once you know the method required, it just a simple selection of the required lab equipment.
