can someone please point me in the right direction for this, i've looked at IBC,ACI and AASHTO and im not sure im finding what im looking for. Is there a section in any american code that explicitly states what safety factor to use for shoring excavation regarding soil stability

Looking for code reference for factor of safety values on excavation shoring

What kind of shoring? Soldier piles? Slope stability?
For soldier piles, it's mostly limiting the deflection at the top and design of the steel itself using AISC codes. Slope stability factors are documented in textbooks for temporary and permanent soil slopes; I don't use code for that. I don't remember which textbook, because it's been years since I had to do this; it was a nightmare calculation. The factor of safety is usually between 1.25 and 1.5. Software like Slide2 and GEO5 might have the textbook references in their documentation. Regular retaining walls and soldier pile walls (both of which have different calculations when you use tiebacks, soil nails, or geogrid) supporting a soil slope need to be calculated using the method of slices. If it's a flat slope after the retaining wall, I just assume it's stable, though this should be verified by someone smarter than me when you're getting into 20ft or higher retaining walls.
It's really too broad of a question; I suggest narrowing it down. Also, I think "earth retention engineering" or "geotechnical engineering" forums are better for this. It's on this same site. Check out this thread.

someone asked me if i happen to know the american counterpart of the factor of safety in the eurocode for shoring in excavation. I remember his work was about digging vertically down(like no slope) for construction of a diaphragm wall. In the eurocode i remember seeing it was around 1.2 if i remember correctly
