Try Gulf Publishing. Start with Pipeline Rules of Thumb. Read tyhe Nomenclature on each subject. Then start gathering a library. There is also a book I have on Pipeline Risk Assessment that is very good.

I also suggest that you get hold of ANSI/ASME B31.4 , 31,8 or 31.11 depending on the type of pipeline. There will be equivalent standards in other parts of the world to the USA.

Then you may need books on meter provers, cathodic protection, slug catchers, gas compressors, pumps, pig launchers and receivers, valves, instrumentation etc etc. The specialist knowledge is generally not in one book.

I measure my books by their width on the bookshelf. Pipeline books measure about a 1 metre wide. But I am a general mechanical engineer not a pipeliner so I gues you may need a couple of metres.
