Hi,

Is it possible to have excel insert a chart that has BOTH the X axis AND the Y axis in log form?

Joe Tomei

Sure, are you having a problem with that? You'd need to select the scatter plot for the graph format. TTFN

Yes I'm having trouble.

I can get a log y axis vs linear x axis but can't seem to get Log y & Log x.

How is that done?

Thanks

Joe

You need to select the x-y scatterplot.

You probably selected the line chart. The line chart only has a category x-axis, not a numerical x-axis. TTFN

Transform your formula to logY=MlogX+logB then you can use the line chart method [smile]

Who can't? Plotting with the XY scatter will allow for X and Y log scale.

GregLocock,

Sorry.

I left off the [smile]

Sorry.

Gemtlemen,

Thanks.

I finally understand that the xy chart is fundamentally different from the line chart.

I tried the xy scatter chart, and there, it was duck soup.

Thanks for your help.
