Could anybody advice me how to make a seimic and wind design in a log house,,, Could I find any books related to seismic and wind design of the log houses walls?
I have used an R value of 4 to 5 for the log walls in the past and not been challenged. 1.5 in the code is ridiculous.
You will not find any information to justify the 4 to 5 in the IBC, but there have been other posts on that subject in the recent past in this forum. You might try the search option here and see what comes up. There are justifying articles.
