Hi

I'm a novice Solidworks user, so please be kind.

With regard to lofting, I can loft between different profiles, and loft to a point, but how do I loft to a line?

I'm trying to model a radial detent position (radial male and female 'V' forms) on a large die-cast hinge, and need to end the loft on the centre line of the hinge pivot.

A simple analogy is a slice of pie: at the one end is a rectangular form and at the other end is a knife edge (line).

I've suceeded in projecting the required form back to an offset plane and running the loft from the plane to a centre line point, then cutting the excess material away with an extruded cut, but although the form is correct, I'm loosing contact area toward the centre of the form because it's lofted to a point.

Thanks in anticipation
