For the life of me I cannot figure out how to use the "drag sketch" command when creating a loft. It would be very handy to be able to move the sketch while creating the loft.

Here's what I have figured out so far from T&E and the help menu,
- The sketch needs to be a 3D sketch. I'm not sure of the entire group of sketches need to be 3D or not.

Any insight would be helpful.

Thanks

If instant3d is active you should be allowed to edit the sketch features during loft creation. See if turning it on allows the drag to happen.

You can create a 2D sketch within a 3d Sketch by double clicking a plane or inserting a 3D sketch plane and use 2D sketch on plane option.

I like the instant 3D and rarly turn it off. I would not necessarily be weary of it, just be aware. It's great to have when editing the definition of a feature or a dimension... You don't have to edit the defintion or the sketch to change it location... just drag it.

loughnane,

"Just be aware..." would have sufficed.

Or even "FYI...".

But this isn't forum1010, so we'll let off with a simple warning this time. [smile]
