I have a 1/40 hp 115vac motor that I need to reverse. Am I going to have problems if the capacitor is located 60 ft away? I'm using a PLC with relays to switch the leads to change direction. Here is the wiring diagram:

cenglish,

This should not be a problem. Reaching full speed might take a little longer. This is done pretty regularly with single phase rotary electric vibrators, since the vibrator and the item being vibrated (a bin typically) is a bad location to place the capacitor.

My concern is that the diagram looks like it is connected for 220 (230) volts even though it is labeled 110 volts.
Any comments Keith?

It looks like a ceiling fan motor!

It is a used motor of some sort and came with a small belt drive pulley. I don't think it was a direct drive ceiling fan motor.
