I need help locating a replacement Protective Relay. The original is manufactured by GEC (England) and is a type VAJ, 125 VDC Tripping Relay.

GEC does not appear to still exist, or at least not in North America. Could anyone suggest a replacement relay or point me to the web site of a manufacturer of Protective Realys with an online catalog.

Thanks

I think Alstom in Europe still do the Midos series MVAJ relay.

Alstom used to be GEC-Alsthom, who in turn were GEC Relays, who mnanufactured your VAJ relay.

Astom relays are still in use. Alternatives are Siemens, ABB, GE Multilin

Try RF Winder. They used to carry large stocks of British switchgear including GEC.

We have some VAJZ13AF2241BA relays. Are these even close?

suggest look at the RXMVB2 or 4 relays from ABB. they are possible equivalents. Depends a bit on the type of VAJ or MVAJ you have installed.
