Hello,

I am using Nastran FX.
I am trying to simulate a catamaran hull and i am wondering about the cosntraints that i must have.
Does anyone has any info on this?

Thanks

You should use inertia relief analysis.
Look on QRG for PARAM INREL.
Try to found a well equilibrated system of forces on hulls and solve it.

Your main load of interest is the torsion when one hull enters a wave ahead of the other (etc).

Hello,
I did not explain myself well. I am doing some 2d simulations of a cross section of a catamaran and i am wondering what kind of boundary conditions should i use, for example:
1 - Pinned where the sideshell meets the main deck and free for movement in x in the oposite side .
2 - Pinned in one of the keels and free for movement in the x direction on the other keel
3 - Pinned in the point that the cross deck joins one of the hulls and free for movement in x direction in the oposite corner.
Thanks
