I need to know what loading (in addition to axial load due to wall's self weight) is required to design a firewall which will be about 27 ' high. The IBC 2006 is to be adhered to. Of course the firewall has to be supporting itself under fire conditions . I presume it has to be a cantilever wall. What kind of lateral pressure(wind pressure)(perpendicular to wall) is required in IBC 2006 ?

If it's an interior wall, 5 psf is a normal lateral pressure.

If it is exterior, that is a site sensitive calculated value and cannot be answered here without a lot more information.

Don't forget, it needs to also be designed for lateral loads due to seismic activity.
