Ok...forgive me...I'm new...

It's happened a few times now. I'm not sure what I do to make this happen, but all of a sudden, there's what looks like a little funnel attached to my arrow pointer. And then I lose some functionality. The only way I am able to get rid of it is to shut solidworks down completely and reopen my model.

And for some reason, when I type "Funnel looking dealie that screws me up", in Solidworks Help, it yields nothing!

What am I doing to make this happen, and how do I turn it off??

Thanks!

It's sounds like a video card issue. What are your computer specs?

Have you read faq731-376 to make the best use of Eng-Tips Forums?

That's a selection filter. Hit F6 to turn it off.

Type "selection filter" in the Help files to see how this can actually be a useful thing.

Reality is no respecter of good intentions.

That icon shows that you have activated the filter option. I used to accidently do this on occassion as well. If you goto the funnel icon and a lightning bolt under it you can turn on and off your filters. Or you can goto View - Toolbars - Selection Filter.

Ahhh....F6.... thenk yo...

Ahaa....Trogdor... excellent handle... STRONG BAD RULES!

If you set a filter in one mode, say assembly, and then switch to a part or drawing - the filter is still set even though the toolbar may not be on.
