I am currently looking into Lithium Ion batteries in the 500-1000 Wh range @ 20-40 V, but the problem is that for the application, the ability to carry the product (and battery) on an airplane is a must.
I have recently learned about a battery pack that can easily separate into multiple, smaller capacity batteries that allow it to pass FAA airline limits on carrying Lithium Ion batteries aboard an airplane.
The battery is the Dewalt 20/60 V Flexvolt. It is a 120 Wh battery, which is above the 100 Wh FAA limit on spare batteries. But, the battery has the ability to be changed into three 40 Wh batteries, just by turning a switch. I learned about this technology in this YouTube video from 1:00-2:00 :
Aside from this YouTube video, I can't find any information on the technology, which brought me to this forum. Dewalt doesn't even seem to advertise it.
Does this exist in any other batteries? If so, any in the range specified? (500-1000 Wh @ 20-40 V)
