Can anyone give me a quick run down (or point me to)a tipical Liquidmetal Alloy spec.

Also any comments from the experts on where its ideal applications might lie in engine / aoutomotive technology?

Is it expensive stuff?

I am not sure for what it is best suited in a powertrain - maybe pistons?

Regarding cost, it is going to be crazy expensive by automotive standards. It is composed mostly of zirconium (extremely expensive), followed by beryllium (extremely expensive), titanium (very expensive), copper (expensive), and nickel (expensive). There are few opportunities for cost reduction, even if you include bulk purchasing due to automotive volumes.

There is a review on "liquid metals" in one of the recent issues of "Advanced Materials and Proceses" the house journal of ASM. That review includes some applications and I think some costing.
 
Checked the web site already and yes the is little or nothing!

As for the article, how would I go about getting a copy or viewing some of the data?
