Eng-Tipers,

I am scaling up a liquid-liquid extraction process. I have data obtained in separation funnels using Treybal's guidelines. I am wondering if there are any NEWER books, articles, guidelines in the development of the process. I need to design the pilot plant to test the commercial viability of the process. I cannot offer details for obvious reasons.

Thanks in advance,

Check "Separation Process Technology" by J.L.Humphrey and "Handbook of Separation Process Technology" by R.Rousseau.

There is a dedicated chapter in "Fluid Dynamics of Packed Columns: Principles of the Fluid Dynamic Design of Columns for Gas Liquid and Liquid Liquid Systems" by J. Mackowiak.

There is a chapter on LL extraction in Perry Chem Engg Handbook.

Presume you are aware of low interfacial tension issues in separation.
