Not sure if this is the right place for this question but here goes.

If a droplet of liquid (e.g. water or milk) is placed on a clean piece of glass, does anyone know the relationship between the diameter of droplet on the glass and the volume of the liquid.

I need to estimate quite accurately (within say 3%) the volume where the volume can be as large as 100 microlitres and as small as 5 microlitres.

Obviously the temperature and characteristics of the fluid will be known.

Google for surface tension, there will be a relationship but there are many theories involved in the calculation.

Being a very simple guy I would just put 50 drops in a petri dish and determine the weight. Once you know the weight of all the drops you can figure out the mass of one drop and then the volume of one drop. Sorry no fancy formula but if you want to get it done today.....

Weigh it with a microbalance,

OR

aspirate it into a capillary and compute the volume there.
