This is my first post on this forum, so here goes.

I am trying to figure out if there is a way to link the
"Where Used" info either in a BOM or on a drawing.

I would like the drawing or BOM of a part to display what
assembly or assemblies the part goes into if any.

Has anybody been able to successfully do this?

I do that using custom properties but I would have to say it is relatively small scale. We may have one part that is used in three other assemblies at most, I list those assemblies in custom properties, from there I'm able to list them in a BOM.

I believe what you're really looking for is something like Parts & Vendors, though it's just a guess. It is more or less inventory software that runs outside of SolidWorks. It can export Excel files that you could import into SolidWorks.

SolidWorks PDM may offer something along the lines of what you're looking to do, I don't know for sure as I have not been exposed to it on a production basis.
