Linking vault assy's to parts in the vault

The problem I am having is that when our company bulk checked in top assy's some sub-assy, and or part files remained linked to folders outside the PDM works vault, is there an easy way to "re-link" the top assy to the "new" re-named sub-assy's that were checked into the vault?

Thanks

The only reliable way to do that is to reassemble the top-level assembly with the correct sub-assemblies in SolidWorks, then check it back into PDMWorks.

If you have copies of the parts out on the network, get rid of them. PDM works will then have no choice but to use the ones that were checked into the vault, and not the ones pointing to other locations.

emc2673,

I suppose I should clarify something: Do the files outside the vault have the same names as the files inside the vault? If that's the case, jksolid is correct; you will need to reference the files in your working directory (instead of the network) prior to check-in. If the files have different names, you will need to reassemble the assembly with the correct file names.

If a file needs renaming, it should be renamed in the vault prior to checking-out, opening, changing project, etc. If it is outside the vault, then renamed, it will check-in as a different name (new).
