Can attributes like a BOM text be linked to or imported from a spreadsheet? Updating BOM style & text is a bit of a grind.

It can be done.

Things to think about:

- what happens when MS releases a new version of Excel, and the old link stops working, ditto for new releases of Acad.

- what happens if somebody on another PC in your company tries to edit your drawing, do they need access to the .xls file, and can you guarantee that the file won't get lost?

- same as above, but the user blows away your .xls import and overwrites the info with a text box...

Good points. I revise drawings, and the BOM usually predates or does not match the MRP system. Presently I can copy the part number from the BOM into ERP, open the doc and copy revised descroptions into the BOM item at about 1 minute per item, before I used that important neuron, I transcribed and got typos redlined ;(.

A one time import of .xls into a stack of attribute blocks would be a mild sort of revolution.
