People,

Someone in our office has raised the question regarding the conversion of an assembly file into STEP file.

When our manufacturing department requests a "dummy" model of a machined/fabricated assembly in order to create their program (CAD/CAM) they request a STEP file of the assembly.

If the assembly is modified AFTER the STEP file is created, am I correct that there is no direct link between the two files? This would mean that manufacturing will have an out of date model?

Is there a better method in order to keep the link? If so, please share this information. Has anyone else had this similiar experience?

Many thanks in advance.

Brian
