We have recd an enquiry where The line size or valve size are not specified by the client and we are asked to size the valve based on the given flow rate, Operating Pressure and Temperature. Can any one help me to find our minimum line size?

You are welcome to use the pipe sizing nomographs and equations. Remember this method is used when sizing both the pipe and pump. Another shortcut is to size pipe based on fluid velocity. For example liquid suction lines for 1 ft/s and discharge 5 to 7 ft/s.

To size pipe when the pump is already determined you need to know the pressure drop available in addition to the pressure drop. This is a pure engineering calculation independent of economics.
