Has anyone used Hollo-Bolts for a structural application with any success?

Has anyone found good research demonstrating their strengths?

Recent thread on Holl-Bolt durability Link. The the tech rep that I spoke with was great so I'd recommend just calling them. The Hollo-Bolt product is extensively tested and works well.

I like to debate structural engineering theory -- a lot. If I challenge you on something, know that I'm doing so because I respect your opinion enough to either change it or adopt it.

We specify them quite frequently, for either bolting to closed sections, or where access to the 'far' side of the bolt is otherwise troublesome.

Have heard no reports of any issues with longevity or issues with installation.

They are (notionally) removable as well, although I believe that is quite hard and relies on being able to lever out the 'sleeve' of the Hollobolt and pull it back it out with sufficient force to deform it back to it's original shape. If you are worried about 'leaving' or 'dropping' anything on the blind side of the bolt I also think it is common for the cone to fall off the back when being undone.

I usually use the alternative Blindbolt where removal is going to be required.
