Has anybody seen the problem where, regardless of system settings, SolidWorks will only open assemblies in lightweight mode instead of fully resolved. I've checked large assembly mode to make sure it's not causing this problem and it doesn't appear to be kicking off. Anybody have a similar experience or ideas?

Recommended for you

Go to Tools > System Options > Performance and in the Assemblies section, de-select [/b]Automatically load components lightweight[/b].

Tried that already, no luck.

Did you try restarting SW after changing the settings per CBL suggestion?

System has been restarted multiple times since I disabled the options for Large Assembly mode. Also tried reenabling it and setting the threshold out beyond anything we do here.

Give this a try. It is relatively quick and is easily reversible if it doesn't work.

Happens once in a while. One solution is to not double-click the file open. Instead, go to file (on menu), then open, and uncheck lightweight. Weird, as it rarely happens, but has happened to several people around here with different assemblies.

Double-check Performance and Assemblies sections. Make sure the 'always load lightweight' boxes are unchecked.

ctopher: a star for you for nailing the problem right on the head. Performance was set to always load lightweight.

CBL: a star for you for tenacity.

Thanks. I was confirming what CBL suggested.
