What type of light bulb or for which application?

Check website of sylvania, phillips, GE Lighting..any lamp manufactures.

rbusara....it's a miniature filament bulb..can't locate an equivalent.
I need it for a piece of old equipment..only marking on it is CM82

I know I can nail it down if I can do a physical search of the bulb...it runs on 6vdc is all I know.

CM must stand for Chicago Miniature. The P/N may be obsolete. You could email their engineering department.

While I can not directly help you, but as you can see every little bit of info helps..your description of lamp, narrows down the search field.

What sort of fitting is it?

MES? LES? something more exotic?

Google search for cm82 lamp turned up
stevenengineering.com/Tech_Support/PDFs/27MAIN.pdf on first hit. Download the PDF, search for "cm82", it's on page 198.

Double contact bayonet bass. Overall length 1.44 inches max, diameter 0.750 inches max. Design voltage 6.5, 1.02 amps, MSCP 6.0, life hours 500, filament type C-2R.

Maybe this helps.
