So I'm in my sketch (part) and I have many sketches laid over each other to distinguish geometry because many drawings share the same geometry. When I take it to a drawing to transfer to mastercam X2 using mastercam direct I want to make layers of each sketch that I can switch on and off when I code the geometry in MCX. I know how to open the toolbar for the layers, but I can't figure out how to make individual layers for each sketch. What am I doing wrong! I know you can od it in AutoCAD. I know how to make the layers in Mastercam, but not solidworks. Help!

Are you modeling parts, or creating a bunch of sketches in a drawing?

SolidWorks is not the same as AutoCad.

I agree with Dustin.
If you are not creating models and only sketches in drawings, I suggest using only AutoCAD.
In SolidWorks "Help", search for 'layers'.

Ok I figured it out. Hmmmm I guess Solidworks really isn't like AutoCAD after all!?!?! What? Weird?

Weird?
It's not supposed to be like AutoCAD.
