Hi everyone,
I'm modeling sand flow through pipe in Abaqus. I have a question: how to make these layers? I created datum planes and partitions, but I don't know how to create predefinied fields properly.
I'm using CEL method - Coupled Eulerian Langrarian. In photo I attach partitioned Eulerian domain which I should assign material to. I have a problem how to do it that in the beggining the pipe is empty and then every o,5s another layer is "activated" and added.
Thanks for the answers!

You can use predefined fields to specify material assignment only for the Initial step. During analysis steps, material flows according to specified loads and BCs. If you want to model flow through a pipe then it should be enough to define initial material volume at the beginning of the pipe and then let it flow (for example due to gravity) through the rest of the pipe.
