Lateral loading of gravity columns. 1

We are in the process of evaluting the ETABS software. Can you laterally load a gravity column? For example...you have a tall single story building with intermediate wind girts, or a building with ribbon glass and eccentric spanderal beams that support brick between floors.

Yes, you can. I don't think ETABS defines a column element as lateral or gravity. It defines it as a column and i am sure it will check the column as for a combination of axial load and bending from the reactions of the wind girt.
