Lateral Capacity of Pile

A soil report provides the average safe allowable passive resistance(for shear) as a cerntain value (unit pcf) of equivalent fluid pressure, from this how can I determine the lateral capacity of pile?

Do the 'coefficient of lateral subgrade reaction' and 'modulus of lateral subgrade reaction' mean the same thing?

Hope someone could help me out. Thanks a lot.

This seems a statement for a linear analysis setup of a pile in the soil subject to lateraal loads.

You would analyze in FEM for springs consistent with the modulus of lateral subgrade reaction and then check the exerted pressures (from the reactions at the springs) if within the allowable passive resistance.

The coefficient must be something different but related, or just the seame modulus.
