Laser Selection Question

OK, so this isn't a laser "engineering" question, but I couldn't find a better place to ask this question.

I'm looking for a laser (think laser pointer dimensions) to be mounted in an aluminum housing that will be used to align the center of two plates. We're currently using a (terrible) $5, 650 nm, 5mW, red laser. the diameter of the laser casing would have to be around 1/2" and the length has to be under 8 inches. The one we have now operates at 3 volts, but that could change.

I'm having trouble finding vendors that aren't gun websites (which I wouldn't mind using, except that they're restricted on our internet). Does anyone know of any vendors that sell lasers close to what I described.
