Is it possible to program a laser marker from UG. We are using NX3 and our current process involves exporting the curves to be laser etched to DXF and then generating the laser program from an autocad file.
The laser marker uses scriba software, which accepts HPGL and plt files. Is there anyone with any experience in this? Any help would be appreciated. I know that this is very avgue, but it is all I know about our laser programming.

If the software will take HPGL, perhaps you could set up a plot queue that outputs HPGL to a file instead of a plotter and give that a try.

Hi,

we use NX 5 and HPGL plot files for laser marking, to.
What could be a problem the interpreting of the line thickness when importing the HPGL files into the laser software, we need to use only one line thickness in the NX files because of the import problems.

What laser etching software/laser do you use?
We use Scriba software and are having major issuse with it and UG. Can't seem to get things to come out full scale. We are trying to create laser files that ate about 25" x 25".
