I am using Catia V5 r8 sp5. I have many large files that are stored on a Windows 2000 server. When I try to open these files on my Windows 2000 Pro workstation (P4 2Ghz with 1GB RAM) it can take up to 10 minutes. Network driver is the latest version and network speed is 100Mbs full duplex. Network load testing has proved no fault with network. Only Catia has this problem. AutoCAD and other apps all open large files across the network with no problem. Anyone else had this problem???

It may be the file size, how large are the files you're trying to open? I usually work with large files through LAN and have no problem. I always check the RAM usage in the Task Manager. When CATIA starts using virtual memory, it can take as long as she wants to get files loaded.

Rgds.
