Large diameter "INDUSTRY STANDARD" weld neck flange

Does anyone have TEMP/PRESSURE ratings or documentation on "Industry Standard" flanges? Evidently this "INDUSTRY STANDARD" is the norm when not specified to MSS SP 44 / B16.47....

To what "industry" would this "industry standard" be working in?

What service? What conditions?

What is it being connected to? What is the flange type and pressure rating and material and size and spec of the flange will it be assumed to be bolted up to?

I seen the term (Industry Standard) used to call out he flange meet a specification of the code of construction. Also it is used to cal lout flanges over the limitation of the 24" diameters.

ANSI B16.5, B16.47, APD 6D has some information, CSA Z245.15 comes to mind. Just google it under "flange specification" and see what comes up. How difficult can this be?

racookpe1978 - Condenser/Cooling tower service. The issue comes with the dimensional data and the fact that there is no written specification/classification for this "industry standard" on A105 flanges over 24". They'll work just fine but the end user was pulling dimensional data of WELDBEND's website (MSS SP 44 / B16.47) flanges and they aren't the same, thus causing the issue.

Cockroach - it's not difficult and I've been down that road. Show me where there is a true written specification? The "industry standard" A105 flange has been made for 50+ years but no one has written a true specification on it / not that I can find. They are Class 125/150# flanges...

mscanglin1, my Taylor Forge catalog 571 lists "Industry Standard" flanges in Class 75, Class 175, Class 350 nominal 26 thru 72 in WN & SO. Also could be AWWA flanges, often used in condenser work.

Can you give dimensions? Nom size, bolt circle, # & size bolts or holes, etc, maybe I can identify it.

Yes, there are several dimensional standards for flanges over 24" NPS.

Flanges smaller than 24" are almost always covered by ASME B16.5

But this choice of standards above 24" should be covered by the Pipe Spec for the system in question.

Are you working on an older/existing piping system where the owner (and his gang of MBAs)have discarded all documentation ?
