ladder logic from days of yore

Hi fellow problem magnets,

I wrote a plc ladder logic program years ago and it used a programming technique which did not allow the next set of ladder instructions to be executed until the previous set had been completed. has anyone used this method? I think it was cascade or sequential programming. It was to program a SLC500 which controlled an assembly machine.
