is there anyway i can take into consideration manufacturing defects into calculating L10 life of a bearing.

do any one know if there is any tabulated values of frictional losses in gear mesh. i hope i am not sounding stupid when i am asking this.

Can you be more specific about what kind
of manufacturing errors? If the bearing
is preloaded it will only magnify the
effects of the errors.

You will have approx 3 percent loss max
in each gear mesh situation. Depends on
the lube and also the face width of the
gears in mesh. This assumes standard
involute spur type gearing.
