Hi,
What is attached a rear/front knuckle to (other than LCA, UCA and brake caliper)?

Thanks

And the end link for an antiroll bar, if it doesn't attach to one of the arms. And the hub itself. And the bottom of the shock and the spring, if all that doesn't attach to one of the arms.

Still wonder why such a basic and easy-to-figure-out-oneself question would be asked here.

Thanks GregLocock!
Brian, I've just started a new position as a suspension designer.
No experience in designing knuckles and control arms.
I am trying to create a CAD start-up file that would consider all the knuckle connection with the other suspension and steering components.

Do they have any positions for brain surgeons? I'm thinking of a new career.

Can you give us a hint where you work? Might help us help you.

I think I'd spend a few weekends strolling around in "auto recycling" yards to see what has been, and is being done. There are some philosophical differences that I think are pretty interesting.
Some SAE papers have interesting discussions, but it takes a heap of hunting. The SAE website has a decent search function.

And someone should be defining the design intent, goals, objectives, up front.

While making that stroll through the auto recycling yard (which is a good idea) ... Take note of interesting features and ask yourself WHY the designer might have done something that way.

Note differences between how an older version of a certain car was designed, and how a later version of the same car was designed, and ask yourself WHY. If you spot something odd that you cannot figure out ... we're here.
