How would I go about calculating the capacity of a knife plate of a beam to post connection? I have a GLB bearing on a 6x6 and need 7.5" bearing, would the detail (see attached) allow for me to avoid putting in a 6x8?

Also how would I go about calculating a knife plate face mount hanger (see 2nd attached)? I've been using the NDS dowel type fastener tables, and debating on the single or double shear chart?
Any guidance and/or input is appreciated!
