I read that Kevlar degrades at about 800 deg F. This info is all over the www.

What I need to know is as the temperature approaches the 800 deg F limit, does the Kevlar change strength / tensile properties ?

If I expose Kevlar to 700 deg F for 10 min and then quickly return it to room temperature (with 3 min.), will that cause a decrease in tensile capacity ?

Thanks for any input !

This is the Dupont handbook on Kevlar which you can find by Googling.
Check page 11-8

With consideration for your system, I would study the glass transition temperature (Tg) of the epoxy you are using. When the epoxy softens, the integrity of the strength provided by the kevlar fabric (I am assuming you are using fabric here) is temporarily compromised (permanently if, when the temp is removed, the critical bond and alignment is not achieved).
