I am looking for K factors in S-B equation with vertical orientaion of mesh pad. Maybe someone knows if K depends on:
1. liquid phase load
2. properties of mesh pad (wire diamter, type- synthetic or metal, mesh-pad density)?
3. is there a general correlation on liquid viscosity and/or surface tension?

I am very fortunate to occasionally work with a fellow named Wayne Monnery. You might start with seeing what he has available in the public domain in the way of papers. Here is one such link:

Wayne is one of the more knowledgeable individuals in this area...

Dear Sir
Souders-Brown Equation as following
Va = K * sqrt[(density_L- density_v)/density_v]
where density_L: liquid phase density
density_v : vapor phase density(lb/ft^3)
K = separation factor
=0.2 for vertical drum without wire meush
=0.35 for vertical drum with wire mesh and horizontal drum w/out
wire mesh
Va= allowable vapor velocity ( ft/sec)
