Joist Identification

Does anyone recognize the joist in the photo? I am trying to determine the manufacturer and locate load tables.
I have sent this to the SJI also and will update if I hear back

It looks like a homemade joist. I doubt that you will find any load tables for it. I also wonder about the strange configuration of the web. I think you will have to measure it and check it out by calculation; you will also need to take a guess at the grade of material used.

SJI indicated that it is an expanded metal joist- and there were several manufacturers. Attached is the literature from Bethlehem

It's amazing how fast SJI responds- even over a weekend. They are terrific!

With regard to cross bracing, we have discussed the question of whether or not the tension member in a cross brace provides an adequate brace for the compression member. I think we concluded that it did not, but I can't remember the name of the post.

This joist fabricator seems to take a different view. I can't say that he's wrong.
