Is it possible to change (flip) a pin joint axis orientation in mechanism?

when u set up the translation surfaces/planes. there is a flip button.

between the connection types and references

I can't find that option! Are you sure it is there?

No, that won't do what I want!

hmm maybe use illustrations to show what you mean then?

That flip button does not flip the joint axis orientation but flip the assembly part. I have the same problem. Any help is appreciated.

Thanx

Can you send me your problem through an example, I mean part files.

Then I can better help you.

Israr,

No, sorry I can't.

The thing is, when you create a pin joint the axis direction is provided by default. That means the rotation angle will positive or negative according to the right hand rule, and since the axis positive direction is system provided the rotation angle signwill be system provided as well.

I am asking if there is an option to flip the direction of this axis so I can definemy ownpositive rotation direction.

Flipping the axis like puppet suggested won't do the trick.

Thanks,

Lucian

this is what your after, when ur setting up ur mechanism driver hit
that flip button in the middle. this will define your rotation to be
positive or negative.

Ie CW or CCW rotation with the same driver. just by hitting flip :)

let me know :)

Hi Puppet!

That flip button usedfor defining servo motors.pin jointorientation is generallydifferent.

NDK,

i am assuming ur using a servo motor to move ur pin join around.

and that when u specifiy your motors your getting a -ve rotation. the
way to fix it is to drive the object backwards. or hit that flip button.

other than that, i am completely lost as to what you guys are after :) all i can do is wish u luck.

From all the answers I guess there's no way to flip a joint axis orientation. You got to live with the default.

Thanks for your time guys,

Lucian
