JOB MARKET IN NORTH CAROLINA?

My family is considering moving to Davidson,NC can anyone tell me how the civil engineerin market in the North Carolina area is doing in this tuff economy? I am working in the Long Island, NY area as a roadway design engineer for a mid-size firm and this past year was very difficult for my firm. Most of the counties and villages we do work for put a lot of there projects on hold because of finnanical issues, even the nysdot did not put out as many projects as normal. I image this was the same throughout the different states. Can anyone share there experienc with me so I know what type of job market I will be coming into? thanks.

Davidson is a nice area. The job market here is okay. Just like all over the country, there were many many lay offs and firms going out of business from 2009 to 2010. It seems to have leveled off. There are positions out there and we've saw engineers moving between companies this year. Let me know if you have any specific questions.
