Hi Anyone Who Is Any Good (Offer educated advice instead of rubbish)

Has anyone run a wankel engine on Jet A ?

Thanks to all,

Mr Below Mound.

Yes, and No. I am not aware of Wankel engines having been run on Jet-A specifically, but insofar as Jet-A is essentially kerosine and diesel engines run very well on kerosine, then there is no doubt that the diesel Wankel engines that were developed, would have run Jet-A quite happily.

I assume that you were asking about Wankels in a general sense, and not about a specific model. I think there have been at least two CI Wankels. The only one I can recall at present is the Rolls-Royce effort which had a small chamber piggy-backed on top of the main engine, so that there was two stage compression in an attempt to reach the necessary compression pressures.
