Jazz Legend Miran McPartland Dies

Dang . . . I, too, listened from time to time to her programmes. I understand that she even did a programme with Frank Zappa but the tape was lost! Too bad - that would have been a hoot to see and hear . . .

George Duke, too, passed away a couple of weeks ago - he just had a new album come out dedicated to his wife who died of cancer last year - "Dream Weaver".

Marian Mc Partland RIP, I remember having been at one of her live concerts about 25 or 30 years ago, she was really a legend within the pre-bebop traditional jazz pianists, I read the biography in the link, she started playing at age 3, another fully-fledged talent, Renee Rosnes started at 5, Chucho Valdes at 3 as well, pretty impressing to understate it.
