thread238-136455 the ISO Phase Bolt heating at this point is because it is carrying more than its share of the current and you are satisfied that these bolts are properely tightend the the finale adjustment for the hot one is slightly loosen the hotest bolt to reduce the current and thus reducing the heat. Thermal scan check the bolts again and continue until the thermal scans are balanced. The key is to balance the currents.

The bolts should not be carrying current in the first place if the joint is designed properly. If appreciable current is flowing in the bolting then the joint should be broken and remade. What you're suggesting is at best a horrible bodge. No offence intended.

Did you realise that the thread you referenced is from 2005?
