ISO 898-1:2013 actually calls for a V notch Charpy test to be carried out at -20 deg c, not at -40 deg c as per table 3. there is an issue whereby the table reference the requirement as 27J, however there is no reference to this being an average minimum nor to the requirement that no single value shall be < 2/3 of this value. I agree that the general principle is adopted for this however in this instance there is no reference to the 2/3 reduction therefore the quoted minimum is a Single minimum not an average. thread330-185617
