I'm looking for a way to design springs with configs that have "free lgth", "installed", "actuated", etc, as configs.

This takes quite a bit of setting up to make it work. Surely there is a template available for say, compression springs, extension springs, etc.

<TorsionSpringByTheTick.zip

This is a torsion pring model with multiple positions. The length of the spring is governed by the length of a line in a 3D sketch. Length is actually controlled by the sketch, not by the helix feature.

You can use this to see how it is possible to link helix turns to length. You could readily do the opposite, vary length and keep turns the same.
