Hi,

Is it possible to make a Journal that will make a box (using block feature if possible) that is enveloping (if this is correct word_ like a wrap just wrapping box, not wrapping surfaces) the model or selected assembly components. Then put the box in reference set "Box" and put it on layer 2?

Is it necessary to know programming languages to be able to make Journals?

Thanks.

I don't know if there is a journal . . .
But Wrap Assembly is something that should help you here.

Wrap gives too much faces, and models I want to box are mostly very close to rectangular shapes, so wrapping them give to much faces in parent assemblies.

What version of NX?
If you are using NX 10, you can use the "create box" command to make an associative block around the geometry you select.

There is a form of the command in NX 9 as well; see:

I am on 7.5 but we are switching to 10 in January, so I would like to try it in what we have now as one of part/assembly simplification methods, but final solution should be for 10.
I am sorry I skipped this in first post.

Thank you, it looks very good in NX 9 video.
