hi every one,

The overbend is displacment controlled, because it conforms to the stinger geometry, therfore strain based deign (SBD) can be used (Equation 5.25 and 5.26 of DNV OS-F101 Sec. 5)
Now to the sagbend: Regarding that its curvature is a function of tensioner force, can one still assume it is displacement controlled?

Assuming the sagbend is load controlled, it has to be checked using load controlled equations (5.23 and 5.24), while the overbend can be designed more economically using SBD (Equations 5.25 and 5.26).

anyone has any experience in this regards?
